SRRP passion is to save lives . . .
through the following programs:

  • Food Aid

    The food items urgently needed are maize, meat wheat flour, milk powder, dried fish, lentils, beans, and edible oil. Maize, meat, dried fish, and edible oils are easily available in Kenya and Uganda. Most of the other items have to be donated in kind and shipped from abroad or overseas.

  • Clothing and Blankets

    New clothing and blankets are needed for a population of about 1.5 million people who are either in rags or without clothing and blankets at all. Because of health reasons, second-hand clothing and blankets are only received under approval from health authorities whose procedures are normally strict, and therefore time consuming. Clothing and blankets with disinfectant clearance certificates are most welcome.

  • Health Care

    Health and sanitation problems facing the displaced civilian population in South Sudan and the Nuba Mountains are becoming almost insurmountable. Since the ware broke out people have been deprived of medical care. The clinics and hospitals have been abandoned due to lack of medical supplies and equipment. With available resources SRRP is involved in reviving existing clinics and providing help to the sick in refugee camps.

  • Agriculture

    The goal of the agricultural program is to enable the displaced population to utilize the agricultural resources within their environment so that they may become self-supporting as soon as possible. Emergency food aid is desirable only as a short-term temporary measure. The displaced people need basic agricultural implements and seeds so that they can, in the long-run, help themselves.

  • Cottage Industry

    Besides food production, the use of existing skills among the displaced population is a matter of top priority. The population needs tools for carpentry, blacksmithing, tailoring and fishery.

  • Education Programs

    Education is a fundamental basic right for all human beings. The war in South Sudan has meant that a generation of people shall reach adulthood without any education. The educational program provides basic educational supplies to meet the needs of needy students and teachers.

SRRP Emergency Appeal

  • SRRP has worked with the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) to help distribute relief aid to refugees in Darfur, and South Sudan;
  • Your donations have also allowed us to expand these efforts to create an official physical presence in Sudan;
  • Each dollar raised goes directly to benefit those Sudanese who are in need.
